William's Story
Life
I moved to Alaska in August of 1976. I was attracted by the pipeline money. I worked construction on the North Slope for several years. In Fairbanks I attended machine school for three years. I moved to Anchorage in 1978 and worked as a machineist for three years. In 1981 I went to work for Chugach Electric Asso. as a turbine mechanic/operator. training in 89. I've been married since 79 and still am. In 91 I broke my neck and back in a construction accident. That kinda slowed me down, but not by much. Broke my neck again working for the State of Alaska in 2001. Still ok, just got taller by an inch. Currently I'm back at the University of Alaska Anchorage taking radiology. Well I'm still breaking things like I did back in school. Some things never change I guess.
